The National Center for Advancing Translational Sciences (NCATS), National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI) and the National Cancer Institute (NCI) support biotechnology and healthcare small businesses owned by women and individuals from socially and economically disadvantaged backgrounds through open funding opportunities available through the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) programs.

On March 2, 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. ET, join NCATS and its NIH co-hosts with the Association for Women in Science (AWIS) for a webinar about programs and funding opportunities available to support women-owned small businesses and women in research and technology transfer organizations. The event will feature:

• An overview of SBIR and STTR programs and funding opportunities

• Examples and case studies of women founders of bio- and healthcare-technology early-stage businesses

• Tips and tools for applying for funding and other small business resources available for women entrepreneurs and researchers from socially and economically disadvantaged backgrounds
