Sound Affects will host a red-carpet celebrity kick-off cocktail gala in New York City June 25, in order to raise money, the company says, “to change the way that cancer is fought.”

“Sound Affects is a nonprofit organization dedicated to changing how the war on cancer is fought and financed,”  says  Mona S. Jhaveri, Ph.D., who is the founder, executive director, and chairman of the board at Sound Affects. “We support a crowd funding platform to connect individuals seeking dramatically improved outcomes with bio-entrepreneurs actively working towards cures. We strategically partner with celebrity and amateur musical artists to promote our approach to revolutionizing the war on cancer. Music is our metaphorical torch.”
